Frequently asked questions

    • How does it work?

      You provide your trip details, then we continuously check with Spirit of Tasmania to see they have any cancellations. If they do, we notify you immediately.

    • If I don't get an alert, do I still need to pay?

      Yes. SMS charges are only a small part of operation expense of SpiritAlert. We still need to cover the cost of running the service.

    • Is SpiritAlert part of the Spirit of Tasmania or TT-Line company?

      No. SpiritAlert is in no way affiliated with Spirit of Tasmania. We are fellow travellers that have often been stranded ourselves.

    • What happens when I get an alert?

      Get booking! The alert will contain a link to the Spirit of Tasmania website where you can book your trip. You should book as soon as possible as the booking may be taken by someone else at any time.

    • Will I definitely get a booking if I use SpiritAlert?

      No. We can't guarantee you will get a booking. We will only notify you if a booking becomes available, the rest is up to you.

    • Doesn't Spirit of Tasmania already have a waitlist?

      Not really. Spirit of Tasmania only supports waitlisting for a single date per person. If you are flexible on travel dates (as travellers many are), you would need to constantly check their website manually.
